COLUMBUS – The Ohio House of Representatives approved a state budget today after scrapping Gov. Kasich’s original proposal and substituting a House GOP version last week. The proposal moves forward with cuts to local government funding while also cutting school funding. State Representative Heather Bishoff voted against the bill. Following the vote, Bishoff issued the following statement.
“This budget hurts our communities, making it even more difficult for them to provide effective infrastructure, law enforcement, fire protection and other essential services.
“I am concerned that this budget will create additional needs at the local level, and as a result property owners will see more levies.”
