Mahoning Valley reps say Pence's statements on Workhorse highlight need for administration to meet with local officials
State Reps. H. Gilson Blair (D-Weathersfield) and Michael O’Brien (D-Warren) renewed their request to meet with representatives of the Trump administration today as the President prepares for a campaign rally in Cincinnati.
The representatives from Trumbull County have been requesting a meeting since June to discuss the idled General Motors Lordstown facility.
“The misstatements by the Vice President regarding the status of Workhorse financing which were made on Tuesday in Lancaster highlight the need for effective communication between the White House and local leaders. The number of lives affected by this plant and the impact that it has on the local economy make this a matter of pressing importance,” said Rep. Blair and Rep. O’Brien.
Reps. Blair and O’Brien have stated that they will meet the President at the time and place of his choosing.
