Leader Sykes issues statement on the passing of former Cleveland state lawmaker Patrick Sweeney

COLUMBUS –House Minority Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) today issued a statement following the passing of longtime Democratic state lawmaker Patrick Sweeney.

“In Northeast Ohio, you’d be hard pressed not to know the name Pat Sweeney. The mark he left on our state, specifically the Cleveland area, is undeniable. As state lawmakers, we work to better the communities that have elected to send us to Columbus and Patrick Sweeney embodied what it meant to be a public servant.

I send my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends and the entire city of Cleveland as they mourn this great loss.”
