Leader Sykes hosts Ohio Promise: Opportunity Agenda Town Halls
House Minority Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) today announced she will be hosting 3 summer town halls in Akron to discuss the state budget, redistricting and other district priorities.
“With so many important issues facing working people, families and the communities they live in, I want to hear from you,” said Leader Sykes. “Democrats are here to listen, and I hope that every Ohioan takes the opportunity to join us. We work for you, and as we begin to recover from this pandemic, we want to make sure every Ohioan has the opportunity to live the Ohio Promise of better lives, brighter futures and an economy that works for everyone.”
The Town Halls are scheduled for:

Each town hall event will be free and open to the public. There will be resource tables hosted by some local and state agencies.
A Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Traditional Unemployment Clinic will be featured before the July 26 event from 5:00-6:00pm for claimants who wish to see an Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) representative in person. ODJFS staff will be able to record information for adjudicator processing and will not be collecting personal documents. For those who plan to stop by the clinic, RSVP to rep34@ohiohouse.gov.
