“Creating a modern learning environment is incredibly important in allowing our students to learn and compete in the modern economy,” Ramos said. “It is important to prioritize projects that improve opportunities for the next generation of leaders right here in Lorain County.”

The Firelands Local project will fund construction of a new middle/high school to house students in grades 6 though 12.  The state share of the project will be $6,238,379, with a local share of $26,595,193. The total cost of the project is budgeted at $32,833,572.

Districts receiving funding through the Classroom Facilities Assistance Program must acquire their local share of the project budget within a 13-month time frame before the state share can be released.

Rep. Ramos has served on the Ohio School Facilities Commission for over four years.
