COLUMBUS – Today’s state job numbers showed that 31,000 more Ohioans are out of work than at this time last year. House Democratic Leader Tracy Maxwell Heard (D-Columbus) released the following statement in response to the update on Ohio’s stalled economic recovery:

“Our state’s disappointing job numbers reflect Gov. Kasich’s misplaced policies that work for the ultra-rich but leave middle and working class families out in the cold," said Leader Heard. “Our state needs to undo the tax hikes on seniors and low-income Ohioans, and historic cuts to local communities and public schools if we want meaningful economic growth. We need to invest in the driving forces of our state’s economy-- education and working and middle class Ohioans.”
