COLUMBUS— Ohio House Democrats issued a statement ahead of the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.

“While 20 years have passed since the 9/11 attacks, we will never forget the tragedy, pain and loss our nation felt that day. Ohio House Democrats mourn the nearly 3,000 innocent lives that were lost, and commemorate the courage of the first responders that put their lives on the line to respond to this tragedy. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the brave men and women who have since served overseas to protect our country. Our first responders and veterans deserve more than just our thanks— we owe it to them to provide the support and resources they need to succeed.

“As we reflect today, we recommit to upholding the values our country was founded upon, those of equality, liberty and freedom for all. We are reminded that we are stronger together, and that when united as Americans, we can meet any challenge before us.”
