Richardson Speaks at Human Trafficking Advocacy Event
COLUMBUS – State Representative Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) recently had the opportunity to continue to support victims of human trafficking at the 2025 Human Trafficking Prevention Awareness Statehouse Advocacy Day hosted by the Collaborative to End Human Trafficking.
The event brought human trafficking advocacy groups together to discuss approaches to combating human trafficking, share successful insights, and brainstorm solutions with members of the Ohio Legislature.
“This day matters because everyone, all of us, comprise the team that will make a difference,” said Richardson during her speech. “We collaborate for change. The laws we’ve made in the past were to improve the lives of survivors, and we won’t stop now! We will persevere together until Ohio is rid of the scourge of Human and Labor Trafficking. My wish is that this gathering today (Wednesday) will be part of an ever-growing flame of unity, understanding and transformation in Ohio.”
Richardson has been a long-time supporter to end human trafficking in Ohio. She has introduced several pieces of legislation to help victims and increase awareness. Notably, she sponsored the creation of Ohio’s Human Trafficking Awareness Day and the expungement of non-violent crimes committed by trafficking victims.
The Collaborative to End Human Trafficking is an advocacy group for victims of human trafficking that provides public awareness, educational opportunity to help identify traffickers and victims, and works with state agencies and legislators.
