Richardson Introduces COVID-19 Vaccine Bill
COLUMBUS – State Representative Tracy Richardson (R- Marysville) announces the introduction of legislation to prevent expulsion from school and termination from employment, based on COVID-19 vaccination status.
Richardson introduced the bill, H.B. 477 on November 1. This legislation creates a comprehensive personal exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine and vaccines that utilize similar technologies. The bill also prevents the expulsion of students and the termination of employees who claim exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine.
“I have heard the concerns about COVID-19 vaccine mandates from the citizens of the 86th District and across Ohio and have been actively working for months toward a solution,” said Richardson. “My goal is to do my best to uphold the freedom and rights of citizens.”
Several bills aimed at mandatory COVID-19 vaccines have already been introduced and deliberated in committee in the Ohio House of Representatives. So far, none of them have been able to muster the votes necessary to pass.
“HB 477 is a step forward in providing a safeguard from mandatory COVID-19 vaccines,” said Richardson. “We need to find a path forward and win a battle for freedom. This bill accomplishes that goal.”
HB 477 is currently awaiting a committee referral in the Ohio House of Representatives.
