Richardson Commends North Union FFA Team

COLUMBUS – State Representative Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) invited the North Union Future Farmers of America team to the Statehouse Wednesday to be commended and recognized by the House of Representatives after achieving a FFA national runner-up award. 

The team, comprised of Lilly Taylor, Mack Plotner, Owen Hall and Cammie Shenkle and coached by Jared Evans, finished runner-up in both team exercises and individual competition. 

“In the 86th District we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our students,” said Richardson. “North Union has a strong history of success at FFA competitions and it was a pleasure to be able to recognize this group of young people for their hard work.” 

Teams were evaluated on agronomic scenarios that included crop management, crop selection, production, problem solving and marketing. 

Taylor received second place individually, Plotner received fifth place individually, Hall received a gold rating individually and Shenkle received a silver rating individually.
