State Reps. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) and Sedrick Denson (D-Cincinnati) announced the introduction of their bill to designate a portion of I-275 in Hamilton County as the "Officer Kaia L. Grant Memorial Highway." House Bill (H.B.) 33 honors the life of Officer Grant, who died tragically during a police chase on March 21, 2020 at the age of 33.

“Officer Grant exemplified the best of our community, and her tragic death is an immense loss to Springdale and all of Hamilton County,” said Rep. Miranda.  “This memorial highway will create a lasting memory to her, her service, and will remind us all how much we value our women and men in uniform.”

“The death of Officer Grant is a heartbreaking loss for all of Hamilton County. We owe it to her, to honor her legacy of sacrifice and courage. This legislation will do just that” said Rep. Denson

This legislation passed the Ohio House last year but did not advance out of the Ohio Senate, prompting Reps. Miranda and Denson to prioritize this bill’s reintroduction at the start of the 134th General Assembly. H.B. 33 now awaits its committee assignment.
