Rep. Denson bill to modify innovative mammography screening passed by Ohio House and Senate, heads to Governor's Desk

COLUMBUS– State Rep. Sedrick Denson (D-Cincinnati) announced that his House Bill (HB) 371, to increase access breast cancer screening, early detection and patient notice of dense breast tissue, was passed by the Ohio House and Senate.

“House Bill 371 is a powerful example of what laws can accomplish with bipartisanship and support,” said Rep. Denson. “This bill will save mothers, daughters, wives and sisters, and fight for the health of all women in Ohio. This bill will detect breast cancer earlier and make screenings accessible for all Ohio women.” 

This legislation will: 

·         Provide access to annual breast cancer screenings;

·         Prevent deaths with advanced screenings for women with dense breast tissue;

·         Allow individuals to receive innovative screenings with 21st-century tech;

·         Inform individuals of the risk faced with dense breast tissue.

HB 371 now heads to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law.
