Rep. Denson Announces $500K for Renovations at Best Point Education and Behavioral Health
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sedrick Denson (D-Cincinnati) Monday announced the Controlling Board approved the release of $500K in capital funds to support renovations at Best Point Education and Behavioral Health, a crucial provider of mental health services in Hamilton County.
“The approval of the release of these funds is a vital step in strengthening mental health services for our children and families and an improved facility is conducive to better care” said Rep. Denson.
The funds will be allocated from the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to enhance the facility located at 4008 Westwood Northern Blvd in Green Township.
The funding will facilitate the construction and renovation of an 18,000 square-foot program space at Best Point, which will be known as the Best Point West Cincinnati Early Childhood and Mental Health Center. This facility will cater to middle and high school-aged children, ages 10 to 17, offering vital services such as evidence-based prevention programs, parent outreach education, tutoring, and homework assistance.
Best Point Education and Behavioral Health has provided a comprehensive spectrum of mental health services and education for over 193 years, originally established as St. Aloysius Orphanage in 1832. The organization continues to play a critical role in serving the residents of Hamilton County.
