State Representative Scott Wiggam (R-Wooster) today announced the passage of the “Protect Local Treasuries Act,” which seeks to update the mandatory process by which local governments purchase bonds to protect against unfaithful acts of public officials.

The Ohio House today voted in favor of the “POW/MIA Remembrance Act” which would expand the use of the POW/MIA military flag at certain state buildings. The legislation would require that the flag, used to honor military individuals who are prisoners of war or missing in action, be flown at state operated buildings on Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, National POW/MIA Recognition Day and Veterans’ Day.

The Ohio House today approved legislation jointly sponsored by  State Representatives Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) and Scott Wiggam (R-Wooster) designating February 3^rd as “Charles Follis Day” in honor of the first African American professional football player.

Shortly after I was elected to serve Wayne County as the state representative, a local mom called my office to share her passionate concern with me. Her son was diagnosed with autism at an early age, and was preparing to graduate from high school. Now, just as any parent, this mother became anxious due to her son recently receiving his driver’s license. I personally remember the pit in my stomach when my children pulled out of our driveway as they sat behind the wheel.

COLUMBUS—State Representative Scott Wiggam (R-Wooster) today announced that he will be holding individual office hours on Saturday, August 26, 2017. All constituents of Wayne County are welcome to attend, and no appointment is necessary.

Every two years Ohio is required to enact a balanced budget. Introduced by the governor and amended by the House and Senate, this budget allocates anticipated revenues to various state agencies and other government functions, including schools, libraries and local government.

COLUMBUS—State Representative Scott Wiggam (R-Wooster) announced that the Ohio House has passed House Bill 63, also known as “Judy’s Law,” which strengthens the penalties for perpetrators of felonious assault if an accelerant is used in committing the offense.
