COLUMBUS—State Representative Scott Wiggam (R-Wooster) today sent a letter to Attorney General Mike DeWine requesting that the state of Ohio join Texas and other states as Amici Curiae in support of a federal executive order regarding immigration law.

Through this letter, Rep. Wiggam, along with twenty other members of the General Assembly, call to support the values underlined in the executive order as its constitutionality is considered in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Currently, President Trump’s executive order has been blocked from being enforced by the District Court of Hawaii.

“The District Court of Hawaii’s politically-charged injunction ignores years of judicial precedent and the constitutional authority granted to the White House,” said Rep. Wiggam. “Ohio must stand and support President Trump to secure our borders and protect all Americans and legal residents of this great country.”
