Rep. Baker Announces Ranking Member Appointment for House Medicaid Committee

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) today announced that she has been appointed as ranking member for the House Medicaid Committee for the 136th General Assembly.

“Every Ohioan deserves to have accessible healthcare,” said Rep. Baker. “Ohio Medicaid provides this access to healthcare to more than 3.5 million people in the state – largely children, older adults, Ohioans with disabilities, and low-income adults. I am eager to work on this committee to ensure we are optimizing improvements in health outcomes while ensuring we are good stewards of Medicaid funding.”

The House Medicaid Committee will be focused on the work of the Medicaid budget and Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee budgets. It will also focus on future legislation that would impact the Medicaid program.
