Santucci Responds to Ohio Governor's State of the State Address

Following Governor Mike DeWine’s State of the State address today, Majority Whip Nick Santucci (R-Niles) issued the following statement. 

“I was pleased to hear Governor DeWine’s strong focus on workforce development in today’s State of the State address. Ohio’s economic success depends on expanding opportunities for all individuals, and I appreciate his recognition that individuals with disabilities, our youth, and our retired population can all play a vital role in filling our workforce needs. By tapping into these underutilized talent pools, we can strengthen our economy while providing meaningful career opportunities for more Ohioans.

“Additionally, the governor’s emphasis on manufacturing investment is critical for our state and will directly benefit the Lake-to-River region. Manufacturing has long been the backbone of our local economy, and continued support for this industry will drive job creation, innovation, and long-term economic growth in our communities.

“However, I would have liked to hear more about the governor’s vision for economic development, blight removal, and revitalization of our neighborhoods. These issues are key to strengthening our communities and making Ohio an even better place to live and work.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues in the legislature to build on these priorities and ensure Ohio remains a leader in workforce development and manufacturing excellence.”
