Rep. Grim Says Real State of the State is Ohio is Falling Behind, Putting People First Key to Better and Brighter Future
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today acknowledges that following Governor Mike DeWine’s State of the State address that many Ohioans find themselves living in a state they believe is headed in the wrong direction. House Democrats are committed to creating a better and brighter future for all Ohioans by continuing the fight to put people first.
“Ohioans across our state, whether they live in Toledo, Columbus, Youngstown or anywhere in between know that the real state of our state is severely lacking. In a state that purports to place extreme importance on protecting life, Ohio ranks 36th overall in healthcare rankings and far worse for infant mortality,” said Rep. Grim. “Ohio House Democrats will continue to develop and support legislation that makes a real difference for communities – universal healthcare, commonsense gun policy, and continuously calling out corruption.”
Putting people first will ensure all Ohioans—no matter your race, gender, or economic status—have the freedom to be who they are, the dignity of a safe community and secure job, and the opportunity to thrive.
