COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today issued a letter to Administrator Amit Bose regarding the Federal Railroad Administration’s proposed long distance service route, in the Detroit-New Orleans Corridor. This route would include Toledo, Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati.
“Supporting the vision of a long-distance train from Detroit to New Orleans, including a vital stop in Toledo, is more than just advocating for this route; it's about championing connectivity, fostering community, and preserving the essence of American travel. Together, let's pave the way for unforgettable journeys and boundless opportunities,” said Rep. Grim.
The Federal Railroad Administration is currently conducting a Amtrak Daily Long-Distance Service Study to determine the value of restoring daily long-distance metro rail passenger service and potential new long distance routes for Amtrak.
