COLUMBUS– State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced the Ohio House’s passage of House Bill (HB) 176, which would make minimal changes to the current “Ohio Carpenters” license plate.

“HB 176 would enact two common-sense changes that have widespread support from carpenters across the state. I am thrilled my fellow Representatives expressed their overwhelming support for this bill that will provide practical support for Ohioworkers,” said Rep. Grim.

This legislation would:

  • Add a $10 charitable donation to the Indiana Kentucky Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters. The donation amount was selected by IKORCC and raises money for members facing serious financial need, such as unexpected medical expenses. Carpenters Care is open to members of all locals in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
  • The second change is to allow motorcycle riders to apply for the “Ohio Carpenters” license plates. Current law does not specify motorcycles as an eligible vehicle for the license plate.

The bill now moves to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
