Officials: Slow down in work zones over Labor Day weekend -- and every day

Distracted driving is No. 1 concern

John said the General Assembly is working on H.B. 283.

"There was a study done earlier this year by For Ohio, Fix Our Roads Ohio and they surveyed 1,000 registered drivers in Ohio. The No. 1 concern amongst Ohio drivers is distracted drivers," John said.

John thanked everyone for the work they do every day and for holding the event.

"People need to know when you're driving on the highway, or someone is broken down, or there is construction, slow down. Move over," she said.

"Their work is important and them getting home to their families at the end of the day is just important as our next appointment. It's way more important than whatever phone call, text message or song you want to listen to," John said. "Thank you for the work you do and continuing to bring attention to this issue alongside you, as partners in Columbus," she said.
