COLUMBUS – Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) appointed State Representative Josh Williams (R-Oregon) Tuesday as vice-chair of the Criminal Justice Committee during the 135th General Assembly.

“I am honored to be named as the vice-chair of the Criminal Justice Committee,” said Williams. “As a lawyer, I look forward to working on legislation that will help shape criminal law to help keep Ohioans safe.”

Williams has previously taught constitutional and criminal law at Adrian College and is currently teaching criminal procedure. He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law with a Concentration in Criminal Law.

“Committees are a vital piece of the legislative puzzle,” said Stephens. “I know Representative Williams will do exceptional work and I look forward to seeing the legal experience he will bring to the legislation presented in committee.”
