Manning Announces Ford Megaproject Investment in Lorain County

COLUMBUS – State Representative Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) today celebrated Ford’s plan to invest over $1 billion in their assembly plant in Avon Lake Ohio. Manning issued the following statement on the announcement.

“I am thrilled to welcome Ford’s $1.5 billion investment in Lorain County. This investment in our state is the type of economic opportunity that the people of Ohio Deserve. The $1.5 billion investment is expected to create 1,800 new jobs. The focus of the plant will be on developing electric vehicles helping to shape the future of the automotive industry.

Over the past few years, we have worked extremely hard in the legislature to make projects such as this one possible. I am excited to welcome this investment in our community and see the work come to fruition to benefit our great state. 

Given Ohio’s rich history in the automotive industry, I cannot think of a better place for this investment. I look forward to watching this project grow as opportunities for our citizens and future generations continue to develop.
