State Rep. Gary Click (R-Vickery) announces that organizations can apply for grants available that support youth-focused community service projects organized for Global Youth Service Day. The initiative is being conducted through ServeOhio in collaboration with American Electric Power Foundation and AmeriCorps Volunteer Generation Fund.

“I’m certain there are plenty of groups within Sandusky and Seneca Counties that would be interested in this effort,” said Click. “I highly encourage organizations to get involved in this, it will assist community projects and promote a sense of community and volunteer engagement for our children.”

Organizations that can apply for the grants to be a part of Global Youth Service Day includes nonprofit and public organizations such as volunteer centers, school districts, community colleges, universities, and local governments. The grant awards will range from $500 to $2,000 for organizations.

The grants can be used to enhance projects that improve community assets or infrastructure such as parks, schools, senior centers, low-income homes and can be used for supplies, materials, and volunteer support.

Global Youth Service Day will take place on April 23-25 of this year. For organizations wanting more details and to apply, please visit https://serve.ohio.gov/Grants-Funding/National-Days-of-Service-Funding. The application deadline is March 2, 2021 at 5 p.m.
