News Briefs: Applications being taken for Community Service Grants
State Rep. Gary Click (R-Vickery) announces organizations can apply for grants available that support youth-focused community service projects organized for Global Youth Service Day. The initiative is being conducted through ServeOhio in collaboration with American Electric Power Foundation and AmeriCorps Volunteer Generation Fund.
Organizations that can apply for the grants to be a part of Global Youth Service Day include nonprofit and public organizations such as volunteer centers, school districts, community colleges, universities, and local governments. The grant awards will range from $500 to $2,000 for organizations.
The grants can be used to enhance projects that improve community assets or infrastructure such as parks, schools, senior centers, low-income homes and can be used for supplies, materials, and volunteer support.
