State Board Releases Funding for Belmont Technical College

October 4, 2022
Don Jones News

COLUMBUS— Yesterday the Ohio State Controlling Board approved funding for Belmont College’s Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills (RAPIDS V) project.

The news is celebrated by State Representative Don Jones (R-Freeport), who advocated for the funding of this project during negotiations over Ohio’s capital budget for FY 2023-2024, House Bill 597.

“I fought for this funding in the capital budget because I know Belmont College will put it to good use training and educating their students,” Jones said.

Belmont College is set to receive $129,695 in FY 2023 to purchase new equipment for the RAPIDS V project. The variety of equipment will be used in coursework in an effort to give students access to the most current and advanced education techniques.

The Ohio State Controlling Board is the financial legislative oversight for capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. The next Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Oct. 24.
