Jones Highlights Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program
COLUMBUS –State Representative Don Jones (R-Freeport) highlights Belmont County receiving funding as a part of the new Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program.
The Program was created because of the State Operating Budget, which was supported by Representative Jones. Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted announced that $60 million in grants has been distributed throughout the state thus far.
“The Brownfield Remediation will improve our communities throughout the state while cleaning up former industrial sites leaving our communities cleaner and safer,” said Jones. “
The Bellaire Hospital in Belmont County will be receiving $84,150 for asbestos remediation in the building. Abatement of the property will allow potential buyers to renovate internal structure to expand behavioral services within the existing structure.
