State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces the State Controlling Board approved local funding for the Camp Perry Joint Training Center (CPJTC) located in Ottawa County. Swearingen applauded the initiative.

“Due to intense flooding from earlier this year, the request was submitted for this funding to assist with the clean-up,” said Swearingen. “I’m thankful to the Controlling Board on approving this important request for the Camp Perry Joint Training Center right here in the 89th District.”

Back in May, a storm on Lake Erie caused significant flooding to several buildings at the CPJTC – the flooding required emergency services to remove the water from the buildings.

In total, the measure approved will provide nearly $63,000 in emergency repairs for the buildings. The CPJTC is operated by the Adjutant General’s Department in coordination with the Ohio Army National Guard.

The next Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 30.
