Swearingen Announces $1.6 Million Coming to Camp Perry Joint Training Center
State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces $1.6 million in funding coming to the Camp Perry Joint Training Center. This release of capital funds is to provide assistance for the facility with their new readiness center. The funding was approved during Monday’s State Controlling Board meeting.
“I’m proud to represent Ottawa County in supporting this funding down at the Statehouse,” Swearingen said. “Aiding our military is vital. These funds are essential for our Ohio Army National Guard in preparation for this state-of-the-art facility and further renovations and improvements.”
Swearingen cosponsored and supported House Bill 597, which provided the funding for this project.
The $1.6 million in appropriations for the new readiness center will support individual and collective training, administrative, automation and communications and logistical requirements for the Ohio Army National Guard. Additionally, the work will include site improvements, armory roads, sidewalks and both military and personnel vehicle parking.
The next State Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 29.
