State Board Releases Funding for Yellow Springs Radio Station
COLUMBUS— Yesterday the Ohio State Controlling Board approved funding for WYSO, a Yellow Springs radio station.
“I am glad to see this funding coming to not only the Yellow Springs community, but the Antioch College community as well,” Lampton said. “WYSO does a great job preparing and supporting their students, and I am proud to be a part of that.”
The funding was allocated through House Bill 687, the state capital budget, which Lampton supported earlier this year. The bill was later signed into law.
WYSO is set to receive $134,035 to replace old audio consoles and upgrade to new technology as they move to a new facility. They will also receive $60,750 to upgrade their automation system to be able to play music without switching tapes or discs. Finally, WYSO will receive $70,000 to purchase a new microwave tower at their new facility.
The Ohio State Controlling Board is the financial legislative oversight for capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. The next controlling board meeting is scheduled for Oct. 24.
