COLUMBUS – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources this week announced the latest round of their Clean Ohio Trail Fund grant recipients. The Beaver Creek Wetlands Association was selected to receive funding for part of the Spotted Turtle Trail.

“This project is a great way to showcase the breathtaking nature we have in our area,” State Representative Brian Lampton (R-Beavercreek) said. “It’s incredible to see this funding make its way to the district and I look forward to seeing the work the Wetlands Association will do to make it a reality.”

The Beaver Creek Wetlands Association is set to receive $500,000 to construct 1.2 miles of the total 15-mile Spotted Turtle trail and allow direct connection between Phillips and Rotary Parks and the BC Wildlife Area.

The Spotted Turtle Trail Project will connect the parks and reserves along the Beaver Creek wetland corridor. The trail will create access to unique wetlands and provide opportunities for the community to learn about endangered natural resources.
