Rep. Blackshear Issues Statement on Tragic Shooting at Beavercreek Walmart

COLUMBUS – Rep. Willis E. Blackshear Jr. (D-Dayton) today issued a statement on the fatal shooting that took place on Monday evening.

"My heart goes out to the families impacted by this tragedy. When will enough be enough? It’s time for our elected leaders to finally get serious about keeping our communities safe and take real steps to keep guns out of the hands of people who wish to hurt others or themselves,” said Rep. Blackshear.

According to Beavercreek Police on Monday, a gunman entered the Walmart at 3360 Pentagon Blvd. and shot four people who were transported to area hospitals for treatment. The shooter then died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
