Carruthers to Lead New Behavioral Health House Committee
COLUMBUS – Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) recently appointed State Rep. Sara Carruthers (R-Hamilton) as Chair of the newly formed Behavioral Health and Recovery Supports Committee during the 134th General Assembly.
“I am thrilled that Speaker Cupp has asked me to lead this new and vital committee,” said Carruthers. “Ohio is facing many health challenges right now, including drug addiction, overdose deaths, trauma, depression, suicide and mental illness. It is important we continue our work to strengthen support and recovery services.”
Carruthers will also serve on the Finance Committee and the Families, Aging and Human Services Committee.
“The Ohio House is a talented group of members with extensive experience, knowledge and a passion for public service,” said Cupp. “I look forward to a robust committee process that results in good public policy for Ohio.”
