Rep. Brown statement as House passes bill to expand broadband access to underserved Ohioans
Ohio House Assistant Minority Whip, State Rep. Richard Brown (D-Canal Winchester), today applauded the Ohio House passage of House Bill (HB) 2, a long-held Democratic priority that would create the Ohio Residential Broadband Expansion Program, specifically designed to bring broadband access to unserved residential households in both rural and urban areas of the state.
"Expanding internet to all Ohioans is a common-sense, pro-business, pro-student policy that will help to ensure equitable access to online opportunities regardless of zip code. Now, we need to ensure that the program passes the Senate and is rapidly implemented," said Rep. Brown
HB 2 now moves to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
