COLUMBUS – State Rep. Richard Brown (D-Canal Winchester) today applauds the announcement of 22 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to be built along Ohio’s interstates, state routes, and US routes thanks largely to the second round of federal funding from President Joe Biden’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program.

“This initiative marks a pivotal step in revolutionizing our transportation landscape, fostering cleaner air, and driving us forward toward a greener future for generations to come,” said Rep. Brown.

The funds that helped make Ohio the first state in the nation to develop charging stations is thanks to support of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown’s efforts on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The addition of these new stations moves Ohio closer to its goal of locating fast chargers every 50 miles throughout the state.

Elective vehicles will help us meet ambitious climate goals, while providing good-paying jobs and economic stimulus to the state.
