Rep. Brown announces over $2.5 million to improve Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, support early intervention for Ohio Youth

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Richard D. Brown (D-Canal Winchester) announced today that the State Controlling Board approved over $1.6 million to the Adjutant General’s Department to support construction projects at the Rickenbacker Army Enclave located in Lockbourne. This funding includes construction of a new building in the military facility as well as renovations and improvements to the existing facilities. Additionally, $850,000 will be appropriated to the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services from State Opioid Response in order to continue partnership with The Ohio Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs. This funding will expand current services related to prevention and early intervention that will provide tools to help youth with a history of trauma.

“I appreciate the continued support for of the National Guard as these funds will help to improve Rickenbacker Air National Base right here in House District 20,” said Rep. Brown. “Additionally, I am happy to see funding from the State Opioid Response that will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs across Ohio to aid in early intervention that will help protect our youth and guide them down a safe path early in life.”
