COLUMBUS– State Rep. Richard Brown (D-Canal Winchester) announced today that Discover, a leading digital banking and payments service company, plans to open a customer care center in Whitehall. The more than $16 million expansion project will be used for construction, training and hiring beginning early next year.
“I am proud to see Discover’s investment into the City of Whitehall,” said Rep. Brown. “This investment not only creates job opportunity for the community, but will continue to strengthen economic growth and create a sustainable middle class in Franklin County.”
Discover has become one of the largest card issuers in the U.S. and has had a presence in the Columbus region since its founding in 1985. Discover consistently ranks as a top 100 place to work among U.S. companies and supports a number of local nonprofits with programs aimed at creating financial and overall health to individuals and families in the operating communities. This expansion project will create 20 new jobs and will retain 2,074 existing jobs.
