Rep. Brown Announces Approval of Capital Funds for Rickenbacker Army National Guard
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Richard Brown (D-Canal Winchester) today announced that the Controlling Board Monday approved a significant capital fund request from the Adjutant General’s Department. This allocates $1,948,375 for Fiscal Year 2025 to support essential improvements at the Rickenbacker Ohio Army National Guard Aviation Support Facility in Columbus.
“Investing in our National Guard infrastructure is crucial for maintaining readiness and supporting our service members,” said Rep. Brown. “This project not only optimizes the use of our resources but also reinforces our commitment to the men and women who serve our state and nation.”
The approved funds will be directed toward the demolition of two unused lanes of the rotary-wing aircraft asphalt parking apron. This project aims to enhance operational efficiency and safety at the Rickenbacker facility which plays a vital role in training and supporting Ohio’s Army National Guard units. These improvements will ensure that the site remains a top-tier asset for aviation operations.
