Bill To Protect Ohio Students Moves One Step Closer To Being Signed Into Law
COLUMBUS– State Rep. Richard Brown (D-Canal Winchester) today gave sponsor testimony in the Senate Health Committee on House Bill (HB) 47. The bill will require automated external defibrillators (AED) to be placed in each public school, chartered non-public school, community schools, STEM schools, college-prep boarding schools, and certain municipally owned and operated public recreational facilities in Ohio.
“I am proud to see the continued movement of HB 47 through the Ohio Legislature,” said Rep. Brown. “Today’s committee hearing brings us one step closer to having this bill signed into law so we can better protect our children and our communities from the dangers of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.”
HB 47 was voted out of the Ohio House of Representatives earlier this year by a vote of 86-9.
