Representative Loychik and Abrams Announce Passing of HB 92
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) and Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) announce the passing of House Bill 92, which will require public children services agencies to report cases of child abuse or neglect in military families to the appropriate military authorities.
House Bill 92 is a top priority for the Department of Defense and aims to take care of military families throughout our state and country.
This legislation will simply solve this incongruence by requiring child welfare caseworkers to determine if a parent, guardian, or custodian of a child subject to an investigation is in the Armed Forces and if so, giving them the authority and direction to share with the appropriate military authorities that an investigation is being made.
The bill passed with a vote of 94-0 illustrating the large bipartisan effort to push this bill across the finish line. “As a service member myself I am pleased to see the Ohio House unite to unanimously pass such an important piece of legislation for our military families across Ohio,” said Loychik.
