Loychik Supports Nearly $2 Million Coming to Trumbull and Ashtabula Counties for School Security
State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) announces a total of $1,951,067 coming to Trumbull County and Ashtabula County schools for security upgrades. The initiative was made possible through legislation Loychik cosponsored and supported to strengthen school security. The funding stems from House Bill 687, which allocates $100 million for the School Safety Grant Program.
“I’m pleased to see this funding coming to our local school districts,” Loychik said. “In addition to this, I will definitely be requesting more school security funding in our next state operating budget come next year.”
The following schools will receive these allocations in Trumbull and Ashtabula Counties:
Brookfield Local School District:
· Brookfield Elementary School – $73,822
· Brookfield High School – $73,822
· Brookfield Middle School – $73,822
Girard City School District:
· Girard Intermediate School – $100,000
· Girard Junior High School – $100,000
· Girard Senior High School – $100,000
· Prospect Elementary School- $100,000
Bristol Local - $62,500
John F. Kennedy Catholic School Lower Campus – $70,000
John F. Kennedy Catholic School Upper Campus – $46,000
Lakeview High School – $46,700
Trumbull Career and Technical Center – $86,000
Victory Christian School – $100,000
Buckeye Local Schools:

· Kingsville Elementary School - $18,898
· Ridgeview Elementary School - $31,754
Grand Valley Local Schools:

The grant program is to assist districts with physical security enhancements, such as security cameras, public address systems, automatic door locks, visitor badging systems, and exterior lighting.
