COLUMBUS – State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) announced today that the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDFAA) will bring $8.7 million in funding to the Youngstown Air Reserve Station (YARS).
This funding will widen an assault runway resulting in C-17 and C-130 pilots performing training landings in the Mahoning Valley.
Through this allocation, military readiness will be improved as well as strengthening the strategic viability of the base for decades to come.
“This General Assembly I fought for funding for YARS and was beyond ecstatic to see that $600,000 was allocated from Ohio’s Operating Budget to help with this project,” said Loychik.
