Loychik Reminds Families to Take Advantage of Ohio's Annual Sales Tax Holiday

Mike Loychik News

COLUMBUS –State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) encourages Ohio families to save on back-to-school costs by utilizing Ohio’s annual sales tax holiday, which will be Aug. 6-8.

“As a father of two, I know school season can be exciting and also financially troublesome at times,” said Loychik. “I hope parents around Trumbull County take advantage of this tax-relief opportunity.”

Starting Friday, August 6, to Sunday, August 8, all clothing priced under $75 will be exempt from state and local sales and use taxes. School supplies and instructional materials priced at $20 or less will also be tax exempt. Additionally, online vendors will waive local and state sales taxes on designated items during the tax holiday weekend.

The sales tax holiday is now in its seventh year in Ohio. More recently, Ohio lawmakers made the sales tax holiday a permanent, yearly event to provide additional tax relief for Ohioans during back-to-school season.
