Loychik Issues Statement on Bill Protecting Ohio Pipelines and Electric Grids
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) today issued the following statement regarding his soon-to-be introduced legislation safeguarding Ohio’s pipelines and electric grids through cybersecurity protection:
“With the recent cyberattacks on our nation’s energy infrastructure, Ohio should be proactive in protecting our grids and pipelines. After discussions with my colleagues and subject-matter experts, I am planning on increasing funding for the cybersecurity grant program in the bill to $20 million in additional funding each Fiscal Year instead of $1 million. Ohio cannot risk the repercussions of taking our pipelines and electric grids offline due to a cyberattack.”
