Loychik Highlights Marine Patrol Assistance Grant Program
COLUMBUS – State Representative Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) is pleased to announce that the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office has been granted $25,691 from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Watercraft administrators via the Marine Patrol Assistance Grant Program.
Each year grants are awarded to local law enforcement agencies through the Waterway Safety Fund to ensure that marine patrol throughout the state is prepared and outfitted for any emergency response necessary on the water.
The funds originate from the state motor fuel tax, watercraft registration and titling fees, and funding from the U.S. Coast guard. This year the Division was awarded over $575,000.
“As the weather begins to turn and boating season quickly approaches I am happy to see the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office receiving funds which will help to ensure our waterways in the county stay safe and enjoyable for all,” said Loychik.
