Loychik Highlights Funding for Fire Departments in Trumbull County
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) announced today that House Bill 110, the State Operating Budget, has allocated funding to be used for fire department equipment and training costs. Representative Loychik added the line amendment to ensure Trumbull county’s fire departments have sufficient funding.
The Ohio Department of Commerce will disperse this funding through the Division of State Fire Marshal’s (SFM) fire department grant program. These grants will begin to be distributed in the spring of 2022.
“This funding made available through the passage of the State Operating Budget, which received overwhelming bipartisan support by the state legislature, will help provide much needed necessary equipment and training for Fire Departments in Trumbull county, said Loychik. “As we move into 2022 I will make it a priority to continue advocating for state funding to be invested right here in Ohio’s 63rd district.”
To be eligible for the SFM grant program the population of the community the Department resides in must be less than 25,000. $200,000 will be available for volunteer departments, township departments, and municipal departments in Trumbull County.
