Loychik Announces Ohio BUILDS Funding Allocated From HB 168
COLUMBUS – State Representative Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) and State Representative Mark Frazier (R-Newark) announced today that House Bill 168 has helped provide an additional $44 million for Ohio BUILDS (Broadband, Utilities, and Infrastructure for Local Development Success).
Thus far, $137 million over the first two rounds of funding has been allocated to Ohio BUILDS with a total investment of approximately $250 million expected for the program.
House Bill 168 appropriates Coronavirus Relief Funds that the State has received from the Federal Government and has jurisdiction in how they are spent in addition to funds from the GRF.
Ohio was created by Governor DeWine and is a water infrastructure grant program that reduces or eliminates the financial burden on localities associated with critical infrastructure needs such as the replacement of old water lines, construction of new water systems, and the installation of new water mains.
Ohio BUILDS has a goal of helping to create solutions to many problems that will in turn improve the quality of life for Ohioans throughout our state.
“I am pleased to see that the hard work put into House Bill 168 throughout the legislative process is coming to fruition with the latest Ohio BUILDS allocations,” said Loychik.
