COLUMBUS - The State Controlling Board has approved the release of funding through the NatureWorks program to Trumbull County.

NatureWorks projects are funded through the Ohio Parks and Natural Resources bond issue which was approved by Ohio voters in November of 1993.

These projects were among 115 others that were awarded by the State Controlling Board on Monday and they amounted to $5.2 million in funding. Since its inception in 1993, the NatureWorks program has helped fun 2300 public parks projects throughout Ohio’s 88 counties.

Area projects in Trumbull include:

  • Willow Park in Cortland receiving $60,961 for the replacement of a restroom facility
  • Waugh Park in Hubbard received $20,975 for the installation of new playground equipment

Furthermore, the Village of Lordstown received $1,500,000.00 for financing the upgrade of local water service in support of the construction of a new manufacturing facility.

“It is wonderful to see these state funds being allocated to Trumbull County making Ohio’s 63rd district a better place to work, live, and raise a family,” said Loychik.
