Ohio House Passes Bill to Designate Joe Burrow Highway
COLUMBUS – The Ohio House of Representatives today passed House Bill 380, legislation that will name twenty-nine roads and bridges throughout Ohio, announced State Rep. Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville).
Included in the bill is House Bill 316, sponsored by Edwards, which will designate Joe Burrow Highway in Athens, Ohio. The stretch of highway will be located beside Athens High School, where Burrow attended and where the football stadium is currently named after him.
“Joe Burrow is a source of hometown pride and an inspiration to us all,” said Edwards. “He has never forgotten his hometown and has consistently worked to make Southeast Ohio better, specifically through his fight against hunger in Appalachia.”
The Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund supports the operations of the Athens County Food Pantry, which serves residents of Athens County, Ohio who experience food insecurity.
The legislation now heads to the Ohio Senate for consideration.
