Rep. Forhan Urges Voters to Read the Text of the Proposed Amendment (It's Shorter!) and Ignore the So-Called "Summary"

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Elliot Forhan (D-South Euclid) today joined the Ohio Ballot Board in revising the ballot language for this November’s reproductive freedom ballot initiative, following the Ohio Supreme Court’s ruling to reconvene and make a minor revision.

“The Republican members of the Ohio Ballot Board failed to do their job in providing a fair and accurate summary of the proposed reproductive-freedom amendment,” said Rep. Forhan. “I moved today to replace the biased and misrepresentative summary with the text of the proposed amendment, which also happens to be shorter in length. To each Ohio voter: don’t be fooled. Read the actual text of the proposed amendment. (It’s shorter than the so-called “summary!”) You can do so at ReadTheAmendment.com.”

The reproductive-freedom constitutional amendment would guarantee that Ohioans have the right to make and carry out one’s own reproductive healthcare decisions, including but not limited to decisions regarding abortion before viability, contraception, fertility treatment, continuing one’s own pregnancy and miscarriage care.
